Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Students,
 
I am happy to invite you to the third event of our DLCL Focal Group on Persian, Arabic, Turkish, and Hebrew: the visit of Elias Muhanna from Brown University. 1:00-2:30pm, Tuesday 31 January in 260-252 with the title “Comparative Literature and Islamicate Languages.”
 
He is the Manning Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature at Brown: https://vivo.brown.edu/display/emuhanna. He is also a contributing writer for newyorker.com (http://www.newyorker.com/contributors/elias-muhanna), runs the Digital Islamic Humanities Project (https://islamichumanities.org/), has a translation just out with Penguin (https://goo.gl/3vTwWX) and a monograph forthcoming from Princeton University Press in late 2017.
