Powerpaola (Paola Gaviria, 1977) is one of the most prominent contemporary graphic artists from Latin America. Memorializing her own growing up in Ecuador and Colombia, her oeuvre spans several decades in intimate detail. Her multi-volume Virus Tropical was adapted into a major animated film in 2017.

Zooming in from Buenos Aires, the writer/artist will be presenting on her trajectory and influences, followed by a Q&A with students and Stanford affiliates.
