Based on Anthony Burgess's disturbing novel about a dystopian totalitarian future in England, Stanley Kubrik's cult classic A Clockwork Orange follows the actions of young sociopath Alex (Malcolm McDowell), a Beethoven-loving, head-bashing punk who leads a gang of "droogs" on ultra-violent assaults until he is captured by authorities and subjected to a new behavior-modification therapy, the Ludovic Treatment, with the goal of rehabilitating him into a productive, respectful citizen.
