Please join the DLCL for a screening of Jean-Luc Godard's "Le Mepris/ Contempt" (1963)! This film is a part of the DLCL Film Series: Images of America - German Cinema and Beyond. Join us every Wednesday from April 3rd to June 5th for a new film.

The cinema of the nouvelle vague is unthinkable without its Hollywood idols. In this epic chef-d'œuvre Godard takes his American idols apart with the most beautiful imagery in Technicolor and Cinemascope. In his only big-budget production, starring Brigitte Bardot, Godard shows the mechanisms of Hollywood moviemaking and reflects on the conflict of cinema between art and industry.
