Ximena Briceño, Lecturer of Latin American Literature and Culture at Stanford University, will be presenting on “Amphibian Encounters: Del Toro through Cortázar". In her talk, Ximena Briceño will offer a reading of The Shape of Water, the 2017 movie directed by Guillermo del Toro, through the lenses of the Argentinian writer Julio Cortázar (1914-1984) and his short story “Axolotl".
