Please join us for the next event hosted by materia, a DLCL Research Unit Focal Group, featuring a conversation between artist and Camila Marambio, curator Ensayos and Lisa Blackmore, Art History and Interdisciplinary Studies, University of Essex.
Artist and curator, Camila Marambio, founder and director of Ensayos, a collective research practice centred on de-extinction, multispecies dialogues, coastal health and peatland protection. The peatland research done by Ensayos gave rise to Turba Tol Hol-Hol Tol, the Chilean pavilion at the 59th venice Biennale, curated by Marambio, with the artist Ariel Bustamante, Carla Macchiavello, Dominga Sotomayor and Alfredo Thiermann, among other creative collaborators from the Wildlife Conservation Society-Chile, the Selk'nam Foundation Hach Saye, and the Greifswald Mire Center.
Lisa Blackmore, Senior Lecturer in Art History and Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Essex, United Kingdom, where she is currently investigating how humans relate to rivers through analyses of infrastructures, sound and installation art, poetry and sensory connections to water. She is the founder of the international interdisciplinary research group entre—ríos.
