Cathy Caruth, one of the founding thinkers in the interdisciplinary field of trauma theory, will present her most recent work during this lunch lecture.

Entitled "Orphaned Language: Traumatic Crossings in Literature and History", Professor Caruth's talk will focus its insights upon Dickens' novel "David Copperfield" and will follow the call of her recent PMLA Afterword: trauma theory's "Return to Literature".
