Dear all,

Please join us next Tuesday for an afternoon of poetry organized by the Division of Literatures, Cultures and Languages and the Stanford Catalan Association in homage to Saint George's Poetry Day in Catalonia and the "Jocs Florals" troubadour tradition.

There will be a Poetry Recital, the Jocs Florals Poetry Contest Awards Ceremony, wine & food - and of course, as it is the Catalan tradition on April 23rd, roses for everyone.

The event will take place on Tuesday,  April 23rd, from 1:30 to 3pm at Oregon Courtyard, Pigott Hall (DLCL, building 260).

"Sant Jordi" is a poetry festival widely celebrated in Catalonia as the "Day of the Book and the Rose". April 23rd is also a symbolic day for literature as it is the anniversary of Cervantes, Shakespeare and the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega's death.
