Images of America -- German Cinema and Beyond

This DLCL Film Series seeks to explore the various ways in which “America” is reflected in different national cinemas. How is America seen from an outside perspective and how did America inspire the European imagination? We hope to follow these questions with this exemplary selection of cinematic masterpieces. As a sequel of last quarter’s German Film Series, there remains a certain focus on German films, but the scope of this film series is mainly a European one.
