Bryan Norton

Bryan Norton is a Mellon Fellow at the Humanities Center, with scholarly interests including eighteenth and nineteenth century German literature, media studies, contemporary philosophy, and the history of science. He is currently finishing a monograph on the perpetuum mobile in German romanticism and co-editing a volume on the late Bernard Stiegler. Norton’s writings have appeared in Theory, Culture and Society, Symphilosophie, the Goethe Lexicon of Philosophical Concepts, the Goethe Yearbook, and the LA Review of Books. He received his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Pennsylvania and has held visiting positions at Goethe University Frankfurt, Humboldt University Berlin, the University of Cologne, and Paris Viii.
