My dissertation traces the logics and theologies of Orthodox Christian iconography and hagiography across various media, focusing on the mid-19th to late-20th centuries (e.g., 19th c. debates over icon style, as they are perceived to relate to form of life; Soviet iconoclasms and appropriations of iconographic and hagiographic itineraries; form of life and the 'iconographic' filmic image).
