Enver A. Akova
Enver A. Akova is a Ph.D. candidate in Comparative Literature and Classics (Minor) at Stanford University. His research focuses on classical reception in the Ottoman Empire, Turkey, and Greece, and the politics of form in classical Athens, examining the intersections of politics and poetics and engaging with questions of mimesis and modernity.
He serves as graduate coordinator of the Center for the Study of the Novel, and is affiliated with the Ottoman and Middle Eastern Digital Humanities Lab at the Center for Spatial and Textual Analysis.
Enver holds an M.A. in Comparative Literature and a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy with specialization in Mathematical Economics from Koç University. His first book of poetry, Olmasını İstediğimiz Bir Park (A Park Wished For; Varlık Yayınları, 2018, Turkey), was awarded the Yaşar Nabi Nayır Prize in 2018, and his poems have appeared in English translation in Iterant, Asymptote Journal, and Dibur.
