Ewa Domanska

Visiting Professor in the Department of French and Italian, Spring AY 21-22

Ewa Domanska is affiliated with Anthropology Department, DLCL and CREEES at Stanford. Her teaching and research interests include comparative theory of the human and social sciences, history and theory of historiography, ecological humanities, ecocide and genocide studies. She has been cooperating with Stanford since 2000. Domanska is full professor of human sciences and holds her permanent position at the Faculty of History, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Poland. She is a corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS); a President of the "International Commission for the History and Theory of Historiography” (CISH). Domanska was a Fellow of The Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education (NUFFIC) 1991-1992 (doctoral studies at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands – with Frank Ankersmit); Fulbright fellow at the University of California at Berkeley – 1995-96 (postdoctoral studies with Hayden White); Kościuszko Foundation fellow at Stanford University (2000-2001); fellow of the Center of Cultural Studies, University of California at Santa Cruz (1996); fellow of The School of Criticism and Theory, Cornell University (1998). Domanska is a member of the editorial boards of: “Storia della Storiografia” (Italy); "Ейдос.
