I work on early modern literature and culture, particularly drama. I am interested in the relationships between literature and visual culture, classical transmission in the early modern period (particularly Ovid), and premodern critical race studies. Recently, I have written about ambitious butterflies in Spenser's poetry, race and resemblance in The Winter's Tale, and statues in early modern drama.
