Mrinmoyee Bhattacharya
Lecturer, French and Italian, Autumn 2025 and Winter 2026
Dr. Mrinmoyee Bhattacharya specializes in Global French Studies and her research is situated at the crossroads of literary criticism, philosophy, and history. She researches, teaches, and writes on contemporary Europe, European philosophical literature, Francophone literature and culture, migration, material culture, and memory. She got her Ph.D. at the University of California, Davis, and taught at several institutions (most recently at UC Irvine) before coming to Stanford. Her book on French universalism is under contract with the Edinburgh University Press. Her research has been published in Research in African Literatures, Eighteenth Century Theory and Interpretation and The French Review, among others.
