Before coming to Stanford, Robert studied History and German Literature at Freiburg University and Yale. His dissertation focuses on parody in High and Late Medieval German Literature. His research interests also include medieval animality, the interaction of Latin and vernacular traditions in the Middle Ages and modern Medievalisms.
