Professor Simona Škrabec Škrabec is a visiting professor from Open University of Catalonia (UOC), Barcelona, where she focuses on European literature of the 20th century. She graduated with a B.A. in German Language and Literature and a B.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia before going on to obtain an M.A. in Comparative Literature and a Ph.D. in literary theory from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. She has translated more than twenty books and authored L’estrip de la solitud (Lineage of Solitude) in 2003 as well as ‘L’atzar de la lluita (Of Chance and Struggle) in 2005. Professor Škrabec Škrabec speaks Slovene, Catalan, Spanish, German, Serbian, Croatian, English, and French. She received the Premi Josep Carner de Teoria Literaria in 2001, and the Premi de la Fundacio Jaume Bofill in 2002.
