A Guest for the Night / אורח נטה

Amir Eshel’s 2024 poetry collection A Guest for the Night is his third book of poems, offering a reflective and intimate look at a place that has shaped his life — a land “soaked in fire” and “so close to him”. The title evokes the figure of the “Guest” from Shmuel Yosef Agnon’s 1939 novel A Guest for the Night, where a returning writer grapples with loss, memory, and the ruins of his past.
