Displaced Modernisms: Eastern European Art Across War, Migration, and Transnational Identity

Active Reading Group

Displaced Modernisms explores how artists from Eastern Europe respond to war, migration, and questions of identity and belonging. Through discussions of art, short films, and other visual materials, alongside conversations with artists, we consider how displacement shapes creative work and connects artistic communities across borders. The group brings together people interested in contemporary art, cultural memory, and the ways artists challenge inherited labels and tell their own stories.
