Language, Literature, and Mysticism

Inactive Research Group

The Research Unit on Language, Literature, and Mysticism examines mystical experiences from an interdisciplinary perspective, drawing on the arts, the social sciences, and the sciences. Last year, the Unit hosted a conference on mysticism , which was complemented by a course on women mystics. Current research and events will focus on issues of translation and mystical language, both in the middle ages and in contemporary culture, as well as on near-death experiences.
