Tangible Thoughts

Inactive Research Group

The Tangible Thoughts Research Unit examines Lusophone literature and culture (from Brazil, Lusophone Africa, and Portugal) through a discussion of the connections between literary theory and anthropology. Focusing on the various intersections between art, fetish, and the physical, the group explores how colors, timbres, shapes, nuances (and other “primal matters”) operate within texts to produce sensible affect and its corresponding effects.
